[2026/04/06 15:05] Sapphire: "Do you know the -sort- of evil?" she asks, sitting up and moving over to check what can be recovered from her cart.
[2026/04/06 15:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana rises slowly, dusting herself off. "I just said - sheer, limitless evil."
[2026/04/06 15:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: pushes the cart off it's side and back to being right way up and starts collecting scattered equipment
[2026/04/06 15:06] Sapphire: "So it's see-through like a pair of pantyhose, amazing," she mutters grumpily.
[2026/04/06 15:07] Mecha: *Btw this one did roll the perception check it was a 5*
[2026/04/06 15:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana dumps a box onto the cart. "I'm glad you find this amusing. As if we aren't travelling WITH evil..." *glares at Valyra* "...we're now being stalked by evil beyond comprehension. Which part of this is funny?"

[2026/04/06 15:09] Mecha: Leesha sees this."You okay?" She asks
[2026/04/06 15:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: Valyra just gives Leesha a look of cool superiority.
[2026/04/06 15:10] Sapphire: "None of it's funny!" she grumps, moving to pick up more scattered items, then kneeling to check on the axle. "Think it's going to come back?"
[2026/04/06 15:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: (BTW nothing else to stream, return to your scientific streams)
[2026/04/06 15:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana yanks up a sack. "I don't see why it wouldn't. It probably didn't even notice us, what's to stop it doing anything it wants to do?"
[2026/04/06 15:12] Sapphire: "So what, the tall wagon was just... in the way?" She huffs. ".....think it left tracks?"
[2026/04/06 15:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "Probably. And when the sun is up, you can take a good look then."
[2026/04/06 15:14] Mecha: I look around."Fine then until sun up we take shifts on watch. any trouble.. well we've done this before."
[2026/04/06 15:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana mutters and dumps a few loose tools on the cart, and heads to the horse, to pet it and feed it a carrot, muttering under her breath about evil all the while.
[2026/04/06 15:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: With the cart right side up and most things recovered, there's a few hours to dawn.
[2026/04/06 15:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sapphire?
[2026/04/06 15:19] Sapphire: Unlikely to get to sleep again, Debben alternates between pacing over the area of spilled supplies checking for anything missed, and studying from her spellbooks. She has the instinct that the morrow is going to be *busy*.
[2026/04/06 15:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana is likewise unsettled; although sat back against a rock, she's not... well, not resting, as far as you can tell.
[2026/04/06 15:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Mecha?
[2026/04/06 15:21] Mecha: I'm exercising but also trying to get at least a little rest. If we're exhausted tomorrow we wont be of help to anyone.
[2026/04/06 15:23] Sonja Bikergrrl: The sun rises slowly. Amigara is still some distance away - and still under... what looks like the effect of a huge invisible lens, as if something without was looking in. But that's silly, you're outside, how can you be outside outside?

[2026/04/06 15:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: You come across... what looks like the scene of a small battle. Half a dozen dwarves are lying sprawled and scattered about. The three on their backs are obviously dead, eyes wide and unblinking at the sky, the others face down here and there, melee weapons lying where they fell
[2026/04/06 15:35] Mecha: Let's go check for survivors and see what happened if there are any
[2026/04/06 15:35] Sapphire: "no!" She moves over to check on the dead dwarves. "Left where they fell, where the beasts of the sky can steal their souls... we need to return them to the earth as soon as possible!"
[2026/04/06 15:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana quickly moves to check each. "This one is alive!" She's stopped at a dwarf lying face down by the side of the trail
[2026/04/06 15:37] Sapphire: Debben rushes over to help as best she can.
[2026/04/06 15:37] Sapphire: Being a mage, this might not be all that much.
[2026/04/06 15:37] Mecha: Leesha cmoes over, before yelling to Debben."We can bury the dead but we need to know what hit them." as Leesha tries to carefully roll the Dwarf on to his back.
[2026/04/06 15:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana steps back, satisfied that there's no wounds, and investigates the site and surroundings
[2026/04/06 15:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dwarf groans and lifts a hand. "There's... what... who... where am I...?"
[2026/04/06 15:39] Sapphire: "Hello. I'm Debben. We found you on the road."
[2026/04/06 15:39] Mecha: Good question." Leesha asks."You're on the road to amigara. Do you remember what happened here?"
[2026/04/06 15:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dwarf blinks, peering at you, then quietens and shuffles back. "Debben. Uth ta-goth." (Shunned one)
[2026/04/06 15:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dwarf pointedly turns from Debben and says, to Leesha: "Why do you travel with an uth ta-goth? An uth ta-goth cannot be seen."
[2026/04/06 15:42] Mecha: Leesha looks at the Dwarf."What is an Uth ta goth?"
[2026/04/06 15:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: Debben is aware, since she is one: Uth ta-goth: One who is outcast, shunned.
[2026/04/06 15:43] Sapphire: She sighs, and crosses her arms. "An exile from dwarven culture. Not even to be welcome in the hill fortresses, much less the mountainhomes."
[2026/04/06 15:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana wanders back, places a hand on Debbens' shoulder and gives a little pull. "Something strange, come see."
[2026/04/06 15:46] Mecha: Leesha looks over."You two go on." Before I look at the dwarf."Didn't know she was uth ta goth. Right now it's not important what happened here?"
[2026/04/06 15:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dwarf answers gruffly. "It's our way. You are not one of the low folk." (It sounds almost like an accusation)
[2026/04/06 15:48] Sapphire: Debben follows with Katana, not expecting to get much out of a dwarf who *recognizes* her as Uth ta-goth on sight.
[2026/04/06 15:48] Mecha: Leesha looks at the Dwarf."You're right I'm not and you're not dealing with her, you're dealing with me, and you're injured, so let us help you and you tell us what did this to you."
[2026/04/06 15:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana (clearly trying to be polite and diplomatic): "Something about this doesn't make sense. They fought something. They shot a lot of bolts, I counted a score. But... they hit nothing. There was nothing there."
[2026/04/06 15:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dwarf to Leesha: "We were attacked. Surrounded - we fought back, but... I slipped. Next, it's day, and you're here, and my brethren have fallen."
[2026/04/06 15:51] Sapphire: "Or whatever they hit walked away with the bolts in," she answers.
[2026/04/06 15:51] Mecha: We had something come by our camp last night, did not see it.. Wait, what do you mean surrounded? surrounded by what?"
[2026/04/06 15:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "I'm telling you. Bolts that hit rocks. Bolts in bushes. All clearly fired from a central area - where the dwarves are - but there's no blood. There's no tracks. They were fighting nothing."
[2026/04/06 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dwarf (rather irritatedly): "I... do not know. Something came, there was an alarm, we all fell to. Then I slipped."
[2026/04/06 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: And... that makes a suitable cliffhanger... and we won't be leaving it so long before next time
[2026/04/06 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: I may well be working tomorrow at short notice, so, I better get well rested
[2026/04/06 15:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: paws up who had fun?
